Procrastination

by | Feb 15, 2026

I’m procrastinating on these Sunday musings. It’s because I know what I want to write about, but Ol’ Beady Eyes—the Voice of Judgement that lives in my head and sounds like my mother—has opinions about this.

“Who do you think you are, writing about these things? You’re no expert.”

“Who cares what you have to say?”

“You’re not so great at this yourself, you know.”

Worthless words.

Next week we’ll begin a new series about two tools that have helped me figure out how to invest the energy of my one wild and precious life. The human compass and the hand. We’ll start with the compass.

I offer my thoughts not as an expert but as a fellow traveler on this spinning globe, much like one farmer showing another farmer a tool that’s proved useful in the fields.

Roxie Update

Roxie has become a snow dog. The sidewalks are clear but when the grass was still boot-top deep, I walked the cleared paths and Roxie skipped along in the snow beside me.

Chewing the Cud of Good

Thankful for this rose petal on the sidewalk this afternoon as I walked home from an event downtown. I took it as a Valentine’s Day gift from above.
